​SBIRs can be an ideal way for startups to raise the seed capital they need to bring their innovative product or service to market--without giving up equity in the process. In this workshop, I will discuss the background of the program, how to get started with an SBIR/STTR grant application, and some “do’s and don’t’s” in maximizing chances for a successful outcome.

​As CTO of a medical imaging startup in the mid-2000s, Neal Kalechofsky used the SBIR program to blunt a large fraction of his company’s R+D costs.  These days as a consultant, he helps clients do the same for companies that are innovating in technologies that range from AI to Zoology and everything in between. It's a world of smart ideas and Neal feels privileged to work with talented entrepreneurs and help them on their journey to success.
