About Event

Hi friends we created a second event listing due to a system glitch when paying for a guest. If you're already signed up through that listing - you're good to go! -botanicale

Please share your name and pull your reservation up on your phone when checking in to help us move things along. Thank you!

Sip on some French bubbly while making the CUTEST little felt creation.... Totoro!!!

We've invited Sophie from Gnomorefungi to do a custom felt TOTORO (complete with leaf hat) to grace your christmas tree, wine/champagne bottles, or houseplants!

Included with your ticket will be:
all the materials you need to needle-felt your own totoro and a pour of one of our special French sparkling wines. This is an off-menu item and reserved for our special events! (non-alcoholic substitute of hop water is available)

Additional drinks (and wine bottles) are available for purchase. The tasting room is open from 1-5 pm so you are welcome to come early, and mingle later as long as there isn’t another workshop after!

Cost of the workshop is $25 + Seattle sales Tax
We are a 21+ venue
To book, click on the #of tickets, then pay and reserve your spot! We can't wait to see you! #ghibliloversunite

Workshop Details

In this 75 minute workshop, you'll learn the basics of needle-felting & go home with a sweet 'lil Totoro ornament-- perfect for a tree, bottle, or plant! No experience needed / beginners welcome.

All instructions will be given in verbal and written format. Workshop involves holding a small needle and repeatedly poking small pieces of wool. If you have any accessibility needs around holding / using a small needle, or any other needs you anticipate, please email gnomoremrfungi@gmail.com in advance of the workshop, and we'll find a way to make it accessible for you!

About your host & accessible entry

The botanicale is a 21+ plant shop and tasting room located in Fremont. We’re woman and disability-owned and run. Find the purple and blush pink house (Charlie's Queer Books - tell them hi!!!) and go down the stairs. There's also a back gate entry (go down the alley) if you’d like to avoid stairs.

About Sophie, the felting queen

Sophie has been crafting ever since she was old enough to accidentally cut through the couch with kid scissors (after which, she was sent to craft outside). Now in her adult life, she protects her couch by doing mess-free crafts like needle felting!

@GnoMoreMrFungi started when she decided to combine her two favorite felting projects, mushrooms and gnomes, into a felting business. She loves to share her 'lil felts, especially by leaving them in loving homes in shops in an activity she calls "gnoming."

Return Policy

Due to the nature of a live workshop and the fees for staffing this event, no refunds or makeup sessions will be given, but you will receive a DIY kit.

If you can't make the event the day of, you can pick up your totoro felting kit and (1) nonalcoholic hop water, complete with instructions to DIY your cute totoro at home.

Kit pickup must be during botanicale's open hours or arranged with Sophie directly. Please let us know if you have any questions and thank you for understanding and supporting small business!
