About Event

Ask anyone in our community about Sean Lynch, and they'll tell you two things: he's ridiculously accomplished, and he'll never tell you that himself.

Sure, Sean co-founded Census, raised $60M from Sequoia and A16Z, and sold to Fivetran. But that's not why hundreds of Canadian founders consider him family. To us, Sean is the architect of the EH List—the lifeline that transformed a scattered group of Canadians in tech into an actual community.

Sean was doing the impossible before it was a LinkedIn flex:

  • 2003: Left small-town Saskatoon for Waterloo CS (when most of us thought "the Valley" meant Okanagan)

  • 2008: Landed at Google (pre-everyone-works-at-Google era)

  • 2011: Jumped to YC, then immediately rolled his company into Dropbox

  • Became one of Dropbox’s first PMs during the "holy shit we're growing too fast" years

  • Did the EIR thing at Social Capital

  • Built Census from zero to exit

But here's what his resume won't tell you: Sean built the bridge while he was crossing it. Every Canadian founder who's made it here stands on infrastructure Sean quietly built—one Slack channel, one coffee chat, one "hey, let me introduce you to..." at a time.

Personal confession: I don’t think I would have gotten into YC without randomly stumbling into an EH List coffee. Multiply similar impact on dozens if not hundreds of founders, and you start to understand Sean's real impact.

The most Canadian thing about Sean? He's allergic to taking credit for any of this. While the rest of Silicon Valley perfects their personal brand, Sean's out here perfecting the art of helping people without them even knowing it.

Join us for the real story: From Saskatoon to the heart of Silicon Valley. The unglamorous early days. The Dropbox rocket ship. Why he started EH List. And what actually happens when you sell your company to a unicorn.

Bring your hardest questions. Sean's superpower isn't his resume—it's his ability to see around corners and help you do the same.
