Our Speakers 🎤
Dr. Aubrey de Grey is a biomedical gerontologist based in Silicon Valley, California, USA, and is the founder, President and Chief Science Officer of LEV Foundation, a biomedical research and advocacy charity focused on repairing the molecular and cellular damage of aging. He received his BA in computer science and Ph.D. in biology from the University of Cambridge. His research interests encompass the characterisation of all the types of damage that constitute mammalian aging and the design of interventions to repair and/or obviate that damage. Dr. de Grey is a Fellow of both the Gerontological Society of America and the American Aging Association, and sits on the editorial and scientific advisory boards of numerous journals and organisations. He is a highly sought-after speaker who gives frequent invited talks at scientific conferences, universities, companies in areas ranging from pharma to life insurance, and to the public.
Gunner is a biotech focused venture capital analyst at BOLD Longevity Growth Fund & Longevity Vision Fund with experience in banking, biotech/medtech start-up advisory, and genetics research. His background also extends into academic research in genomics and bioinformatics (MSc in Life Sciences & MSc in Finance and Economics)
Previously, he worked in banking at BofA Merrill Lynch, World Bank, and the EBRD focusing on private company investments covering origination, structuring, execution, and implementation.
He was formerly an Analyst at Conscience VC, a seed-stage venture capital fund investing across biotech, health, and wellness. Additionally, he spent some time with VITA DAO’s deal flow working group, a longevity-focused research organization funding emerging research in combatting aging. Currently, he and a small team are developing a biotech startup and DAO to be launched later this year that will utilise AI systems to better analyze ambitious biotech projects (particularly early stage startups and research projects) to quantify the underlying scientific support for drug designs and strategies.
