Coffee & Copywork
Maybe you already know what copywork is.
If you don't, the idea is simple (but powerful): You sit down with a piece of excellent copywriting – often a sales letter from one of the greats, or a landing page from a company you admire – and you copy it by hand to absorb the voice.
Then, when you're warmed up, you turn that voice on your own business to improve your sales emails, landing pages, etc.
It's an incredibly valuable exercise and a great way to get better at writing, fast. But most of us never take time to do it.
Well, here's a chance.
My name's Ethan and I run The Austin Business Review, which reaches a bunch of cool business owners here in town.
This event's a casual way to bring people together, and if you come, you'll make a few great connections, while being productive, honing that copywriting skill, and learning from others.
The agenda looks like this:
8:00-8:30AM: Show up, grab coffee, chit-chat
8:30-9:00AM: Focused Copywork
9:00-9:30AM: Personal Writing
9:30-10AM: Mingle and chat
You can bring your own inspiration piece to copy if you want. But I will also have printed copies of an excellent piece (the "sales letter of the month") there for anyone who wants to use them.
As a business owner, there's always something you need to write. Maybe it's a landing page, or ad copy, or product descriptions, or something else entirely.
This will help hone your attention-grabbing skill, then give you dedicated time to take action on the thing that's on your list, while hanging with some cool people.
