Did you know that Africa’s Women Day was founded as far back as 1962?
That means this historical day is 59 years old this year. The founding mother of the day we are celebrating on July 31st is the Pan-African Women Organisation (PAWO).
Today, five days on our countdown watch to the celebration of this 58th Africa’s Women Day, we are excited and honoured to have the current President of PAWO, H.E. Madam Eugine Lipinge and Secretary-General Hon. Madame Grace Kubayo, join us in our awareness studio to share the history behind this important day. They shall also educate us on the vision and mandate of PAWO back then in 1962 and the milestones achieved so far. We shall equally learn about their upcoming 59th-anniversary event and what is next to the agenda of the Pan-African Women Organisation.
Join us for a moment of history and the critical role played by African women in post-independent Africa.
