Midweek Guided Meditations for Anti-Fascists
Lunch & Reset: A Midweek Meditation for Anti-Fascists
In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, we reminded each other: “It’s okay not to be okay.” But now? The world keeps unravelling—fascism rising, rights under attack, live-streamed genocides—and yet, we’re just expected to keep working.
If there’s bereavement leave for losing a loved one, why isn’t there space for the grief of watching a genocide unfold? The exhaustion of navigating fascism’s relentless creep? The deep ache of knowing so many are suffering while so few are willing—or able—to name it?
Most of us can’t afford to stop, so we push through. We show up to meetings, meet deadlines, reply to emails—like the world isn’t on fire, like our hearts aren’t breaking. And to make things worse, politics—the very thing shaping our lives—is treated as off-limits at work. “Let’s keep things professional.” It is as if our rights, safety, and futures are just abstract debates rather than lived realities.
But pushing it all down doesn’t make it go away. It lingers in our bodies, our nervous systems, and our capacity to rest and show up for the people we love. Ignoring it isn’t just harmful to our collective futures—it’s harmful to you because your humanity isn’t meant to be compartmentalized. You are not a machine.
This Midweek Meditation is a space to pause—not to disengage, but to reground. To settle the nervous system, acknowledge what you’re carrying, and remind yourself that caring for yourself isn’t a luxury—it’s survival.
Come as you are. Stay as long as you need. Let’s hold this moment together—so we can keep going.
