Somatics and Cultural Diversity: Creating Embodied Change in the Workplace
When conversations around diversity, equity, and belonging stay only at the cognitive level, we miss the deeper layers of systemic patterns that live in the body. In this workshop, we will explore how embodied practices can support sustainable personal, professional, and community transformation.
Drawing from somatic approaches, the work of Dr. Gabor Maté, and nervous system resourcing techniques, we will create space to explore the felt experience of different bodies. Together, we will look at how historical and lived experiences shape our responses, unpack the discomfort that often arises when discussing privilege, and explore why these conversations are essential to creating real change in workplace dynamics.
Participants will walk away with practical tools to regulate the nervous system, navigate difficult conversations with greater awareness, and foster a culture of belonging – not just in theory, but in lived experience.
