National Institute for Longevity and Aging Research - Brenda Eap // Vitalism Online Talks
A special live stream featuring VP of Communications at the Alliance for Longevity Initiatives (A4LI). Brenda will discuss the proposed National Institute for Longevity and Aging Research (NILAR), highlighting its potential to revolutionize aging research and extend healthy lifespans. This is a unique opportunity to learn about the initiative and ask questions.
Context: Recent developments have brought attention to the restructuring of the NIH. Cathy McMorris Rodgers has proposed combining the Division of Aging Biology, Behavioral and Social Research, Geriatrics and Clinical Gerontology, and Neuroscience into a new “National Institute on Dementia.” Many in the community are concerned that this restructuring could dilute the focus on comprehensive aging research.
❗️The NIH has opened the floor for public input on these changes, with a deadline for proposals on August 16❗️
In response, A4LI has developed a comprehensive proposal to establish NILAR, emphasizing its focus on the biology of aging and the development of therapies to combat multiple age-related diseases.
