Long-Term Sustainability Open Space
Welcome to an open space on long-term sustainability, funded by a Sustainability Action Booster, where people from diverse backgrounds and schools of thought participate in interactive workshops for an afternoon.
What is long-term sustainability?
It is the act of enabling good futures for all beings today and far into the future, even hundreds or thousands of years from now.
Mingle for good
We are bringing together students and professionals who care about sustainability. What do you hope for the long-term future of humanity and the earth? Your answer matters – whatever you just imagined, no matter how fuzzy or optimistic.
Our goals
Expand the network of sustainability-conscious students
Allow for the natural exchange of new ideas
Promote collaboration between disparate groups
Inspire people to take action, study or work in relevant fields, launch projects, and make sustainable decisions
What is an open space seminar?
You will have the chance to participate in 45-minute workshops and discussions that introduce people to deeply meaningful ideas. You may also self-elect to host your own event.
What is provided? What do I do?
Kalasataman Vapaakaupunki provides the space, and we provide stationary and supplies. You participate in workshops and (potentially) host one yourself, but only if you wish. All registered participants will also receive a vegan lunch.
What workshops will be run?
We are continually adding new workshops as proposals roll in. Here are the ones on the agenda so far:
Better governance and justice for future generations
Greatest threats to humanity
Socially sustainable AI
Finding and applying for SDG funding for your projects
(Your idea here!)
