Part Southeast Asian studies, part creative collective, part human systems futures, Seapunk Playshop is a two-week co-imagination camp in Chiang Mai this Oct 21—Nov 3, with the goal of making great seapunk memes, games, and worlds.

​Seapunk is a quest for fresh ‘solarpunk for South East Asia’ futures inspired by the region’s historic open-sea world and culture, and imagined against the technologies, opportunities, and crises of our time.

​The Playshop will run in two stages, both in Chiang Mai:

​🗺️ I. SEAPUNK STUDIES (Oct 21—31).
The first ten days will serve as a collective co-learning season to go deeper and cross-pollinate on everything ‘seapunk’ featuring a pop-up library, curated resources, discussion groups, and more.

​💡 II. SEAPUNK SYMPOSIUM & SPRINT (Nov 1—3).
The climax of the Playshop, the Symposium will serve as a conference for participants to share findings and provocations. This will be followed by a creative speculative-(non)fiction Sprint with imagination and writing challenges to generate concepts, characters, and worlds based on Seapunk research, questions, and imaginations.
