Commons Acroyoga Lesson/Picnic
With warmer weather approaching, come picnic with other Commons members and learn how to do acroyoga at the park! Acroyoga is partnered yoga that brings in the playful and technical influences of acrobatics. It's a great way to have fun and get a good stretch while meeting other members!
You'll learn to lift each other, be lifted, and some balancing techniques in order to do this more safely and easily.
We'll work in groups of three:
The base: Lifter who balances the flyer on their hands and feet)
The flyer: Balances on the base's hands and feet and strikes various yoga poses
The spotter: Helps make sure the flyer lands safely in case of any slips.
Attire: Wear yoga clothes. You may be upside down or stretching your legs for parts of the class. Shorts and a t-shirt also work great too.
This is a beginner class to introduce acroyoga to those who have no experience, but experienced acroyogis are welcome to come help out! No partner required. We'll rotate partners frequently to facilitate learning.
We'll meet at Dolores park to catch some sun.
Please bring
A yoga mat or towel
Yoga clothes (comfy/stretchy)
A snack or drink to share (optional)
Sunscreen
IMPORTANT: Be sure to arrive by the start time since it will be difficult to catch up if you miss the basics in the first 10 minutes.
+1s welcome.
