ThursTalks: AI x Sustainability
As AI continues its exponential growth, two critical questions emerge: How do we make AI more efficient? And how do we make it environmentally sustainable? Join us for ThursTalks as we explore innovative solutions from silicon chips to data centers!
More About the Sharings
As we move towards predictive and proactive AI, the need for intelligent sensing at the edge becomes crucial. Cloud-based solutions face challenges of data transmission, latency, privacy, and massive energy consumption. We'll be having Professor Massimo Alioto to showcase how his Green IC group at NUS is tackling these challenges, developing silicon technologies that enable pervasive AI while maintaining environmental sustainability. From surveillance to context awareness, discover how we can make AI ubiquitous without compromising our planet's future.
As AI models grow exponentially in scale and complexity, the infrastructure that powers them must evolve just as rapidly. We'll be having Dr Daniel Kearney (CTO, Firmus Technologies) to explore the technological blueprint behind a next-generation AI factory—one that meets the escalating demands of modern AI while prioritizing sustainability. The sharing will dive into the evolution of compute architectures, the shift toward specialized chips like GPUs and AI accelerators, and the challenges of power density, thermal management, and data throughput. Attendees will learn how Firmus integrates cutting-edge hardware with energy-aware design and workload optimization to deliver scalable, efficient AI infrastructure built for the future! (Technical Difficulty: 250)
