About Event

Bloom is delighted to present Rev. David Maginley M.Div CSPC, who will lead us through a journey of discovery about terminal illness and death. David is an interfaith spiritual care provider at the QE2 cancer center, and author of Beyond Surviving: Cancer and Your Spiritual Journey. He has also survived cancer four times, which led to a profound near death experience and explorations in consciousness and the connection of body, mind and spirit. With degrees in philosophy and as an ordained minister, David has a deep sense of purpose in supporting others in their spiritual journey. He knows cancer from both sides of the hospital bed, and knows this life from both sides of the veil.

This interactive workshop will provide a framework for supporting someone (or yourself0 who has been given a terminal prognosis, along with guidance for coping yourselves as health care providers, friends and family. We will also explore the dying process, the dynamics of ego-deconstruction through suffering, and the shifts in consciousness as one moves into the transformative fields at the end of life. Nearing-death awareness, near-death experiences, and contemporary research in the field of consciousness studies will be reviewed.

This workshop is open to the general public and care providers, and will appeal to anyone wanting to gain strength and guidance for supporting someone with terminal illness.
