Saint Mark’s Summit Hike
Join us for an adventurous day hike to St. Mark’s Summit, one of the most scenic viewpoints in Vancouver’s North Shore mountains. This trail offers a perfect mix of forested paths, panoramic lookouts, and alpine air—making it a must-do summer hike for anyone looking to escape the city and connect with nature.
The hike is approximately 11 km round-trip with an elevation gain of around 460 meters. It typically takes 4 to 5 hours to complete at a moderate pace. The trail begins at the Cypress Mountain ski lodge area and takes you through lush forests, across ski runs, and up rocky, root-filled paths toward the summit. Along the way, we’ll stop at Bowen Lookout for a quick breather before continuing up to the summit.
At the top, hikers are rewarded with sweeping views of Howe Sound, Bowen Island, Gambier Island, and the surrounding mountain ranges. On a clear day, you might even catch a glimpse of Vancouver Island in the distance. We’ll spend some time relaxing, enjoying snacks, and taking in the views before heading back down the same route.
Please bring at least 1 to 1.5 litres of water, snacks or lunch, sturdy shoes, and any personal essentials. Be prepared for a mix of shaded forest and exposed rocky sections. The trail can get muddy in spots, so dress accordingly.
We’ll meet at the Cypress Mountain parking lot at 9:00 AM, with the hike starting shortly after a quick safety briefing. Parking is free during the summer, and there are washroom facilities available at the trailhead.
RSVP is required so we can coordinate carpools and ensure everyone has what they need for the hike.
This is a great opportunity to connect with like-minded people, enjoy breathtaking views, and challenge yourself on one of the most iconic trails near Vancouver.
