Climate Comms Club: Marketing for Growth
Marketing can be a lonely role. You work where you work because you believe in the mission. We have to build these companies doing good for the planet. When they grow and enter markets and rework industries around a new technology, we all win. But getting to that growth can be a bear, and it’s not a straight line.
We’re putting on this event for four reasons:
We want these companies to continue to grow, and no amount of hob-nobbing in an echo chamber of VCs and Entrepreneurs is going to get us there.
Growth takes Marketing wins. Wins come from creativity and grit. Wins come from your ability to push your company in the right direction, one initiative at a time.
Marketing is all about testing. Trying, learning, testing, failing. And there’s no better way to fast-track trial and error than sharing those learnings with each other.
You can’t do it alone. Whether you have a small team, or are a marketing lead of one, you ultimately make the calls on what you believe will achieve success. We want you to come away with more data, more anecdotal insight, and more ideas to do just that.
What is the format?
You are the content. Bring one win to share: one tactic, however novel or expected, that gave your company measurable results and why. Could be email marketing list segmentation, or a demo day event, or a specific trade show you attended. You will have 1 min to very briefly introduce your company and introduce the win.
Just that briefing will tell you who to go follow up with. After our 1 min intros we’ll network with each other to learn even more so we have actual ideas to take back to work when we leave SF.
You have 1 minute. That means you will hear 39 other wins from the other attendees.
Because we want genuine sharing and Climate Week is full of 300 person events … we are keeping this event curated to 40 people. We are holding the event in an intimate space, and request no video, recording or publicly sharing of the insights you gain here. Feel free to take your own notes, share contact info and follow up later to put some ideas into action!
Our team will take the time to ensure there are no two companies that are direct competitors and will reach out if we want to verify that. We know that this space is less competitive than most, but we want to ensure you feel safe to share wins and techniques that have helped your companies grow.
Who is this event for?
CMOs or Marketing Leads at your organization.
Representing B2B or B2C companies that have early revenue, decent backing and growth plans.
If the company’s main goal is getting funding, this isn’t for you. This is for marketing leaders working on getting their technology into markets. First pilots. First partnership deals. Increasing their number of customers. Leveraging the network build in early stages to turn relationships into revenue.
What if I’m a fractional CMO for multiple companies?
You are welcome to join but must disclose all companies you are currently actively supporting, and select one company to represent at this event.
