ModX Executive Chef Cat Wang

After winning an episode of Food Network’s Cutthroat Kitchen, Cat traveled extensively in Asia, staging at some of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, including L’Effervescence, Nahm, and Gaa.

Since moving to the Bay Area, she worked at Tosca Cafe, Michelin-starred Kin Khao, and most recently, Akiko’s Restaurant (Eater, “The 38 Essential Restaurants in San Francisco”). Her modern Asian omakase menu is a playful take of western influence on Asian cuisine as well as vice versa, which shouldn’t come as a surprise since she garnered her cooking chops in Los Angeles as an alumni from James Beard winning animal restaurant.

In Cat’s words, “The merging of cultures as represented in today’s food is a beautiful thing and should be celebrated.”

We source Michelin quality ingredients and utilize the best seasonal products that the Bay Area has to offer. Our premium seafood is either flown in overnight from Toyosu Market or locally sourced during peak season.
