About Event

Overview

The main focus of this course is to explore the developmental process teams undergo to become high-performing. We’ll examine each stage through two perspectives: collective and individual.

  1. From the collective perspective, we’ll analyze the team as a whole—discussing team needs, common pitfalls, and strategies for team leaders to successfully navigate each stage. The aim is to help teams achieve high productivity and effectiveness. To do this, we’ll use Tuckman's stages of team development—utilized by MIT—to break down each stage and explore it in detail.

  2. Complementing this is the individual perspective, which emphasizes team health. This perspective focuses on how team leaders can care for and support individual team members throughout each stage, particularly given the significant challenges that can arise during these developmental phases. Here, we’ll introduce the Satir Change Model—originally developed in the context of Satir Therapy—as a framework to guide leaders in supporting their team members.

By combining these two models, we aim to provide you with a holistic approach to leading and caring for your team.

This dual perspective will enable you to cultivate a high-performing team that also maintains high morale.

Outcome

This course will equip you to address critical questions, including:

  • In what ways can resistance manifest, and how can you recognize it?

  • What can you do when some team members are resisting change?

  • In a team, whose responsibility is it to help navigate chaos and conflict?

  • Can you intentionally skip a stage in the Tuckman model, and what are the implications?

  • Is it possible for a team to be high-performing or highly productive but have low morale? What can be done in this scenario?

  • How can you strike a balance between performance and team health?
