​About Deborah Eve Lewis Â
​At age nine, Deborah Eve Lewis began taking pictures at summer camp, developing and printing her photographs and hasn’t stopped since - except now she takes 24 pictures per second. Â
​In her twenties, she worked as an on-set photographer for Robert Altman and a camera production assistant on dozens of movies, including films by Martin Scorsese and Jonathan Demme. She became a professional cinematographer in her 30s and has been shooting fiction and non-fiction films ever since. She teaches cinematography at the University of Texas at Austin and won the 2024 Moody College Award for Teaching Excellence in January.
