​Meet Sara Carrer:

​Until January 2025 Sara was the Chief Political Officer at the World Food Programme (WFP), where she led engagement with parliaments and governments and directed WFP’s involvement in the G7. Prior to joining WFP in 2021, Sara served as Executive Vice President for Europe & Africa at BCW (now Burson), a leading global communications and public relations agency. She also held the position of Visiting Professor of Political Communication at the College of Europe in Bruges from 2018 to 2022. Sara is also member of the boards of a few think tanks dealing mainly with youth and women empowerment. An Italian national, Sara is fluent in English, French, Spanish and has a basic level of Portuguese.
