

AfroFuture Presents: The Art of Storytelling Movie Night
In celebration of Africa Day, AfroFutureis curating an intimate evening of storytelling through the lens of film, memory, and imagination. Taking place on Friday, May 23rd at Miss Barbs in Brooklyn, this community gathering will feature a curated selection of short films centered on Africa’s cultural legacy, present-day influence, and imagined futures.
Titled The Art of Storytelling: Through Futurism + Nostalgia, the event explores how filmmakers across the diaspora use cinema to archive, reclaim, and reimagine African identity. Following the screening, we’ll host a fireside chat and audience dialogue unpacking the themes of belonging, innovation, and cultural memory.
