What should I know before coming? Please only bring books that you would feel comfortable giving to to a friend. That means books that you think someone else would genuinely enjoy. If you are just looking for a place to donate books that you would not lend a friend, please consider leaving them at one of those free little neighbourhood libraries all over the city instead.
Do I need to bring books in order to take books? No.
What is a salon? An opportunity to discuss a variety of topics presented by the host. Originally popular in the 17th and 18th centuries, particularly in France, salons were a space for the exchange of ideas, debate on social issues, and the dissemination of new knowledge, often with women playing a key role as hosts (salonnières) and facilitators of the discussions. You are welcome to just oberve if you don't want to participate.
What happens if nobody takes the books I bring? You will have to take them home.
Can I sell my books to people attending? No.
Can I still come if I am a man? Yes king. All genders welcome
