About Event

Join us for AI ToolsDays as we explore AI solutions fighting scams! From website evaluation to real-time scam detection and even AI-powered scam baiting, discover how three teams are leveraging technology to protect Singaporeans.

More About the Sharings:

  • Keith Chua (Data Scientist, GovTech) from the Anti-Scam Products team will share more about rMSE (Recursive Machine-Learning Site Evaluator), a classifier that evaluates potential scam websites. The sharing will cover how we collaborated with the Police to assist their workflows, how the classifier is trained and also the considerations to build a product that is high in accuracy and low in latency. (Technical Level: 200)

  • Bing Wen (Project Lead, CheckMate), and Ananya (AI engineer, CheckMate) will share more about how CheckMate, a WhatsApp service, uses a combination of volunteer-based crowdsourcing and agentic AI to allow people to easily check the stuff they receive online on-demand. (Technical Level: 100)

  • Adam Dunkley (Engineering Lead, OGP) and Joyce Foo (Senior Engineer, OGP) about their experience developing AI Aunty who is Singapore’s digital hero during the OGP Hack for Public Good 2025 hackathon. Using OpenAI’s Realtime API and Twilio to waste scammers time, keeping Singaporeans safe one witty conversation at a time. This sharing will explain why we built AI Aunty and technically how she works. (Technical Level: 200)

  • Ian Ho (Lead Data Scientist, GovTech) from SingPass will share about how Machine Learning is being deployed to detect suspicious and fraudulent SingPass transactions. The sharing will cover several topics, ranging from experimentation best-practices for imbalanced datasets and the practicalities of MLOps for big datasets. (Technical Level: 200)

More About the Speakers:

  • Keith is a Data Scientist in GovTech building NLP solutions to fight scams. Previously, he was a Lead Data Scientist at PatSnap researching on developing LLM solutions for domain specific applications and a Software Engineer at EA building the backend for gamer's login flows. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

  • Bing Wen is the founder and lead of CheckMate, currently a ground-up #tech4good initiative aimed at helping people stay safe and informed online. His day job is in CPF Board driving GenAI adoption and solving problems.

  • Ananya is an AI Engineer at CheckMate, involved in building an agentic AI pipeline for thorough & real-time information checking. For her day job, she is a Data Scientist at HDB.

  • Adam Dunkley is an engineering lead at Open Government Products (OGP) focussing mainly on the Pair suite of products alongside Redeem and PaySG.

  • Joyce Foo is a senior engineer at OGP focusing mainly on Armoury. They both joined the Hack for Public Good 2025 in January 2025 looking to work on practical solutions to scams to help

  • Ian Ho is the Lead Data Scientist at SingPass, doubling as the Product Manager building a set of SingPass fraud solutions and infrastructure. He was previously part of the DataHive team working on sensors and geospatial products, and also worked on various projects involving LLM applications in government.

Don't miss out! Gain some technical insights and learn from the speakers' experiences in building these protective tools!
