Meet your instructor
David Shorey, Davant Co-Founder
David leads our AI research & development efforts, always on the lookout for the next breakthrough, technique or pipeline that belongs in a creative's toolkit. Given that Davant Studio is the first real-time AI image tool, we figure there's a decent chance he's seen more image generations than, well... anyone.
David's career has taken him from working on trailers for Disney to VFX on blockbusters like Mission Impossible, Quantum of Solace and Sharknado.
With decades of experience under his belt, David knows what's required in a professional production setting — and what won't cut it. He'll guide you to the important bits of Stable Diffusion and AI that you should really pay attention to, and leave out the parts that aren't important. The creative landscape is evolving, and David's just the right person to show you how to supercharge your own projects.
Examples
By "blocking out" the shapes in color and defining lines well, StableDiffusion can add in all the highlights, shadows, and lighting effects to go from sketch to photo-realistic.
Actors' poses and expressions can be picked up and used as a "style transfer" of themselves or as a way to "puppet" a completely new generated character.
For the first time in history, leverage your artistic skills in a physical medium, and instantly translate it into digital in another medium, aesthetic or style. A traditional sculptor can design a graphic novel with clay, a dancer can create a watercolor painting through their movement, an architect can visualize their designs... the possibilities are endless.
