Stats & Chats: Women in the UK space sector
Join us to discuss Women in the UK space sector, a new report by the Space Skills Alliance based on the findings of the 2020 Space Census that will be released on 6th October.
This is a two-part series of events. The first event (7th October) will focus on the implications of these findings for the sector's recruitment efforts. The second event (14th October) will focus on women discrimination and the gender pay and seniority gap.
7th October panel:
Fiona Dorrington, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager at the Institute of Physics
Alys Bowerman, Recruitment Manager at Astroscale
Claudia Antolini, Space scientist and science communicator
Heidi Thiemann, Director of the Space Skills Alliance
14th October panel:
Nafeesa Dajda, Head of Regional Growth at the Satellite Applications Catapult
Áine O'Brien, Diversity Officer at the Royal Astronomical Society and planetary scientist at the University of Glasgow
Hayley Evers-King, Marine Applications Expert at EUMETSAT
Joseph Dudley, Director of the Space Skills Alliance
This won't be an hour of slides, the focus will be on hearing from our panellists and answering your questions, so it's worth taking a look at the summary at the beginning of the report beforehand.
The event will start at 1pm and finish promptly at 1:50pm to give you time to grab a drink and go to the loo before your next meeting.
