About Event

✨ Want to make sustainability part of your job today? ✨

Join Work on Climate and Drew Wilkinson for a 2 hour interactive workshop that will give you the skills and resources needed to develop an effective workplace sustainability community. Participants will learn the fundamentals of employee community organizing through expert lectures followed by individual workbook assignments, and small group breakouts for networking and communal learning. This masterclass will teach you strategies for harnessing the bottom up energy of employees, influencing without authority to obtain top down support,  and creating an inclusive environment where everyone is encouraged to contribute. The lessons shared here draw from the success of Microsoft employees, who organized themselves into an influential 10,000 member sustainability community.

Participants will walk away with:

  • 📗 Participant Workbook: A digital artifact you will complete during the workshop with fellow participants, to keep and use after the session This workbook will help you create a “power map” of key stakeholders you’ll need to influence in your journey, help you think through the people, process, and technology you’ll need to build an effective community where you work, and much more.

  • 🤝 Networking Opportunities: Connect with peers from various companies and industries who are also on a journey to build community at work.

  • 💡Advice and insights from an expert community organizer. Drew co-founded Microsoft’s 10,000 member employee sustainability community - now he’s determined to help you do the same.
