Work On Climate (WoCl) is building the workforce needed to solve climate change equitably and justly. We aim to accelerate the global transition towards a sustainable, low-carbon future by empowering professionals to find meaningful climate careers, fostering the growth of climate-focused startups, and ultimately creating a movement to enlist the power of the mainstream career ecosystem to bring the talent of hundreds of millions of people towards building climate solutions. WoCl community is 26k+ strong, and has helped more than 2000 professionals find work in climate.

🎤 Magdeline Camille Vlasimsky, Associate Greenhouse Gas Emissions Officer at the Joint Food and Agriculture/International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Centre
Magdeline is a biogeochemist with diverse experience in the climate and sustainability sector, currently working as an Associate Greenhouse Gas Emissions Officer at the Joint FAO/IAEA Centre in Austria. She is focused on development and implementation of robust and innovative tools to better measure and manage resources for improved livelihoods and environment.
🎤 Cristina Barrera, Sustainability Consultant at Quantis focused on GHG & LCA projects
Cristina is a Sustainability Consultant on the Footprinting Team at Quantis, supporting LCA and GHG accounting projects in the Fashion & Sporting Goods and Food & Beverage sectors. She kickstarted her career in footprinting working as a consultant on sustainability services projects with OnePointFive. Cristina is from Austin, Texas, and holds a Master of Environmental Management from Yale School of the Environment. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from Southern Methodist University.
🎤Sarah Shoemaker is a Program Manager at The Change Climate Project, a nonprofit on a mission to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions by creating the world's most recognized and trusted climate label, paired with accessible, action-focused tools and resources. Sarah specializes in carbon measurement and has advised hundreds of companies who use Change Climate's carbon management software, the Business Emissions Evaluator (BEE), to measure annual emissions and develop reduction strategies. Sarah also leads training on GHG accounting and the BEE through Change Climate's volunteer carbon management program.
Sarah holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from UC Santa Barbara and believes in the power of education and workforce development to accelerate climate solutions from within businesses.
🎤 Neil is the CEO, Founder of OnePointFive (opf.degree). Neil is a climate advisor, investor, and content creator. He serves as a climate expert startup advisor for Plug & Play, 500 Startups, CleanTech Open, and Yale University. Prior to this, Neil was a Deputy Director at Echoing Green who managed a $8.5mn climate startup investment portfolio, and led the startup post-investment support department. Over three years, he reviewed over 2,000+ climate-related startup applications, and invested in and advised 70 climate startups across 20 countries. He also helped these startups raise millions collectively to bring their solutions from lab to market to help businesses decarbonize and meet their Net Zero goals.
Neil writes for Forbes and the World Economic Forum on next-generation climate solutions and startup investing, accumulating over 100,000 reads of his articles. He has been invited to speak on business and environment topics at the United Nations, Oxford, Harvard, Yale, New York, and Princeton universities. He has over a decade of management & environmental consulting experience across four continents with Dalberg, Accenture, and KPMG. Neil has an Executive Masters of Environmental Management from Yale University and has an MBA from Oxford University. He also has degrees in Robotics Engineering, International Business, and Management from Adelaide and Hong Kong Universities. Neil has led projects on behalf of OnePointFive with non-profit and consulting organizations, evaluating their climate strategy, objectives, initiatives, as well as facilitating executive level materiality assessment workshops.
