Introduction: Brix Labs, DML, and the Consulate General of Canada in San Francisco are organizing a high-profile event during SF Tech Week 2024, focusing on the intersection of Canadian AI talent and global tech opportunities. This event aims to highlight the critical role of Canadian technological education, cross-border employment, and government support in the tech sector.

Panel Discussion: "Why Canada is the Place to Hire and Build Global Tech Businesses". This panel discussion will cover key areas, including the Canadian tech ecosystem, government support for tech innovation, and immigration policy to facilitate cross-border talent flow.

  • Panel - 45 min:

    • Ramneet Sran, Consul and Head of Office at Canadian Consulate in Palo Alto: In this role Ramneet leads a team of Trade Commissioners to build strong trade, investment and innovation partnerships between Canadian and American businesses in Northern California.

    • John Yue,  CEO of Inference.AI: As a graduate from Waterloo and CEO of a SV-based company with a Canadian R&D team, John will represent the Canadian tech ecosystem and discuss the rise of Canadian talent in global tech.

    • Pavan Dhillon. Owner, Dhillon Immigration Law: Focusing on Canadian immigration policies and how they benefit companies looking to hire and retain top talent.

  • Networking - 1h 15min: Following the formal program, attendees will have ample time to connect, fostering relationships within the Canadian and broader global tech communities.
