About Event

Welcome to the Seattle Chapter of Women And Climate's first event of 2025!

If you are looking for an opportunity to talk climate with professionals identifying as women or non-binary, you are in the right place! No climate experience necessary.

Where we'll be:

Part 1: The Volunteer Activity [5:30pm to 7pm]

Join the Refugee Artisan Initiative (RAI) for an inspiring evening of hands-on support! You’ll tour RAI’s Maker Space, where refugee and immigrant women artisans transform discarded materials into beautiful, sustainable products. Afterward, lend a hand by preparing materials and organizing inventory, directly supporting the artisans in crafting their next creations and helping to keep textiles out of landfills.

RAI empowers refugee and immigrant women through artisan skills training and micro-business development, fostering a prosperous and inclusive transition to the U.S. By upcycling materials like coffee bags and fire hoses, they create unique, handcrafted items while diverting thousands of pounds of waste from landfills each year.

Space is limited for this volunteer activity - early registration is encouraged!

Part 2: Optional Dinner and Drinks [7pm Onwards]

Join us for an optional dinner and drinks at Elliott Bay Brewing, just a block away from RAI at 12537 Lake City Way NE, Seattle, WA 98125.

We've found that gathering for a meal after a volunteer activity is a wonderful way to discuss what we've learned and network with other attendees.
