Bookup Culture @ MAKE Building
What is Bookup Culture?
Bookup Culture is a reading party where you read alone, in the company of other readers.
📚 This is a BYOBook event
We don’t choose books for you. There’s no set number of pages you have to finish. You choose your own reading adventure!
The Rundown
6pm - Settle in & Intros
6:30 - Silent Reading Time (not silent scrolling time 🤳)
7:30 - Share thoughts about what you read
7:45 - Closing & Mingle
Minimal socializing, plenty of reading. 🙂↕️
Who's invited?
🌈 Bookup Culture is a sex-positive, queer-led space, so LGBTQIA+ & the folks who love them are welcome to join. Aspiring readers & introverts are especially welcome.
Bookup Culture Guidelines:
Respect pronouns of all guests in the space. Get comfortable asking for pronouns rather than assuming them.
Communicate with care. Guests should engage in respectful and courteous communication at all times, avoiding insults, harassment, or demeaning language. Homophobia, transphobia, and racism are not tolerated in the space.
Keep phone use to a minimum. During “silent reading time”, guests are encouraged to put their phones away and on “Do Not Disturb”.
Parking Recommendations
Claudina Lot:
Located south of the Packing House, offering another self-parking option.
Street Parking:
Free street parking is available around the district, but be mindful of posted signs and time limits.
Packing House Lot:
This is the most convenient option, located right next to the Packing House, but spots fill up quickly, especially on weekends.
City Hall Parking Structure:
A free parking garage located just one block north of the Packing District, accessible by a short walk or the free FRAN ride.
