Some background...
Most AI researchers and engineers believe there is a significant chance of major catastrophes from AI, up to and including total human extinction. The top computer scientists in the world are even more concerned, and even the CEOs of the AI companies admit they're right.
AI is rapidly becoming more powerful, at an exponential rate, and could be broadly superhuman this decade.
No one on earth knows how to control a superhuman AI system, or make it consistently care about humans.
The AI companies are aware of these risks, but they are motivated by profit and ideology. They are actively trying to replace your job, and they are willing to risk your life and the lives of all your loved ones to build a "godlike AI".
The only sensible way forward is to MAKE SUPERINTELLIGENT AI ILLEGAL, at least until we know how to make it safe and can bring it under democratic oversight.
