For the People Candidate Forum
This event is hosted by NC Climate & Jobs Roundtable/NC League of Conservation Voters Foundation. See the description below or learn more at https://www.ncclimateandjobs.org/
The North Carolina Climate and Jobs Roundtable is a network of individuals from workers’ rights, racial justice, and environmental movements in North Carolina. Our organizational partners include community, environmental, and labor organizations including the NC A. Philip Randolph Institute, the NC State AFL-CIO, the NC Climate Justice Collective, and the NC League of Conservation Voters Foundation.
We are focused on building labor’s contribution to transforming our state’s economic and political systems towards a regenerative economy that supports workers, protects the environment, and paves the way for a sustainable future. We are committed to building a climate protection section of the NC economy that develops clean energy infrastructure and provides pathways out of poverty in economically distressed counties across North Carolina and creating cleaner, healthier communities. These projects can create high-quality, union jobs that pay family-sustaining wages for all North Carolinians including women, people of color, low-income North Carolinians, formerly incarcerated peoples, and workers in transitioning sectors.
This year, we are hosting a non-partisan candidates' forum for the upcoming Guilford County elections. The forum aims to provide a platform where candidates can address questions from community members and understand the issues that matter to them. It will also offer candidates an opportunity to clearly present their platforms to the community.
