Web Smith is an entrepreneur turned newsletter writer and direct-to-consumer expert.

His journey into the world of direct retail began in 2010 when he was recruited to manage marketing for then-fledgling DTC company, Rogue. During his time there, he learned from legends in the eCommerce space and used the experience to start his own DTC menswear line, Mizzen + Main. Since then, he’s served as Director of eCommerce for two media companies, Uncrate and then Gear Patrol.

Now, he’s diving deeper into the world of media through his own subscription-based company, 2PM. With an average open rate of 42.6%, 2PM has become known as an industry-leading source analyzing the intersection of media and commerce. 2PM’s work has been featured in CNBC, AdWeek, New York Times, Morning Brew, The Hustle, Digiday, Fast Company, Product Hunt, The Wall Street Journal, GQ, and Esquire.

On the call, Web will share how he evolved his newsletter, originally an email to 12 of his friends, to the media company it is today. He’ll also share how he consistently achieves high open rates and how to build a community around your writing.
