Robots, AI, Embodied: Making Intelligence Physical
About this Event
Join us at the Toronto AI Practitioners Network for a special event highlighting the intersection of Robotics and AI in practical applications. We've invited three leading speakers from both industry and academia to demonstrate real-world intelligent robotic systems and their implementations. Don't miss this unique opportunity to see cutting-edge AI-powered robotics in action and expand your network in Toronto's thriving AI community!
Speakers
Prof. Florian Shkurti is a Professor and Director of the Robot Vision and Learning lab at the University of Toronto. His research develops agentic AI systems enabling robots to perceive, reason, and act autonomously in dynamic environments alongside humans, focusing on intuitive task specification and safety guarantees during deployment.
Dr. Yang Jun is a Research Scientist II at Epson Canada with a PhD from the University of Toronto. His research focuses on agentic AI systems for 3D object-level mapping, 6D pose estimation, and autonomous visual perception, enabling machines to understand and interact intelligently with complex environments.
Dr. Siva Manivasagam is a Tech Lead Manager at Waabi, a startup building the next generation of autonomous trucking powered by generative AI. He leads the sensor simulation team on building digital twins of the real world for high-fidelity testing and development of the Waabi Driver.
