Happy Hour & Unplug Event
I am so passionate about this mission. The first time I saw people gathering without their phones was so wonderful, they were talking, playing games, reading by themselves or engaging in other activities.
I was in Europe and the old church was filled with people, who had left their devices at home.
It almost felt "nostalgic" and I had a thought, to bring that idea back home. What if we could gather without our text messages, without our emails, without our playlists and cameras for just a few hours? What does it do, how does it feel, how can we be in these moments, fully engaged, feeling a little free maybe?
It is not a new concept to 'lose' your devices for a bit and enjoy a mindful and peaceful quiet time, but it is different being with a group making this commitment for a few hours together. Creating this space and time together is truly profound and full of stories, laughter, faith and friendship.
Last year my mission came to fruition and it was so much fun! I want to keep creating STOP events, and invite you to join this STOP event in April!
