Catalyst workshop - Creating a safe online environment
This workshop will be aimed at grassroots practitioners who engage directly with vulnerable groups through digital methods such as running meetings, support or group work online.
Participants will explore and develop skills the following key areas:
Benefits and risks of the online environment for individuals and groups
An introduction to the key principles of digital safeguarding and what these mean for our roles
Tips for planning and facilitating safe and supportive online sessions and opportunities including basic risk assessment
About the trainer:
Marie Gallagher has an extensive background in facilitation and project management across the early education, arts and youth work sectors. She has led on the development and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures in all of these contexts, including digital engagement. She specialises in rights-based approaches to education and training.
