About Event

For a time, people picnicked among the deceased, visiting cemeteries to share food and stories with both the living and the dead. This tradition still exists in many cultures.

We invite you to join us at the long table where we can openly discuss our experiences with death and dying while sharing dishes that remind us of our deceased loved ones. Death Café is not a grief counseling session or a support group, but rather a space to talk freely about death in a supportive environment.

- DE -

Hosts:

Angela Craig-Fournes / Funeral Ladies. Educator, theologian, and funeral director committed to helping others normalize death through conversations and guidance. Angela pioneered in Germany the idea of a Death Café where a conversation on death and dying evolves in an informal and unstructured manner. Angela’s early years were spent in Mexico, where she learned how life is celebrated and death is mourned with family and friends through rituals. These experiences have formed her work as she involves family and friends and the dying in the transition between worlds.   She is the author of  “Death must be lived. An undertaker helps those who go, and those who stay” / "Den Tod muss man leben.
