Women in Climate Meetup - MAY 2025
This is a monthly virtual (via zoom) meetup for women who work in, or want to work in, climate and the energy transition.
We will use a Lean Coffee format, where we co-create the agenda real-time and get through the topics that are most interesting to the group. Each month we'll pick an industry learning theme and a jobs related theme to focus on.

Room 1: How we’re decarbonizing Waste Management
Guest: Jenn Packer -Jenn is the director of Environmental Sustainability at GFL Environmental Inc. GFLis the only major diversified environmental services company in North America offering services in solid waste, liquid waste and soil remediation mgmt. Through a strategically located network of facilities across Canada and the US, GFL provides local service to more than 4 million households and 135K C&I customers. Jenn is passionate about tackling messy climate challenges like waste and emissions by turning them into scalable, real-world solutions. She’s excited to connect with fellow MCJers who believe that systems change is possible.

Room 2: How to Build a Workforce for the Energy Transition
Guest: Katie Mehnert is the CEO of ALLY Energy, a job search platform using generative AI to match talent with energy jobs and drive workforce transformation. A former executive at BP and Shell, she launched ALLY to prepare the industry for workforce disruption and climate change. She has served as a U.S. DOE Ambassador under both Trump 1 and Biden administrations and testified before Congress on the clean energy workforce. A published author and speaker, her work has appeared in Forbes, Scientific American, and CNN. Katie is also a board member, marathoner, and mom.
