Rules for “Current Affairs Buzz: A Quiz Competition”
General Rules
1. Eligibility:
• Open to all students of K.R. Mangalam University.
• Students can participate individually or in teams of two. 2. Registration:
• Participants must register in advance using the QR code provided on the event poster.
3. Date & Venue:
• Date: 15th April 2025
• Time: 1:30 PM onwards
• Venue: Room No. C-416, 4th Floor, C Block
Quiz Format
1. Rounds:
• The quiz will consist of 3 rounds:
• Round 1: MCQ Elimination Round – Based on recent national and international current affairs.
• Round 2: Buzzer Round – Fastest finger first format, with negative marking for incorrect answers.
• Round 3: Rapid Fire – Each team/individual gets 60 seconds to answer maximum questions.
2. Scoring:
• +10 points for each correct answer
• -5 points for each incorrect answer (buzzer round only) • No negative marking in the first and final rounds
3. Time Management:
• Each question must be answered within 10 seconds unless mentioned otherwise.
• Rapid-fire round allows a total of 60 seconds per team/participant.
Conduct & Evaluation
1. Fair Play:
• Use of mobile phones or reference material is strictly prohibited.
• Any kind of malpractice will lead to immediate disqualification.
2. Decision Authority:
• The decision of the quizmasters and organizing committee will be final and binding.
3. Tie Breaker:
• In case of a tie, a special tie-breaker question(s) will be asked.
Prizes & Recognition
• Winners and runners-up will receive certificates.
