The Logic of Flourishing: Reframing Stoic Thinking for a Stronger Practice

For the month of April, as nature resets for spring in some places and shifts into a new season in others, we’re invited to do the same—starting with how we think.

This month at Porcia’s Porch, we’re returning to a foundational part of Stoic philosophy: Logic.

Not as a rigid theory, but as a living, evolving practice—one that helps us cut through noise, reclaim clarity, and live with intention.

We’ll explore this renewal of logic through the thoughtful and grounded voice of Brittany Polat—an author of many published works on Stoicism, including Journal Like a Stoic and co-author of Stoic Ethics. Her writing and presence have made her a leading female voice in modern Stoic thought.

Our conversation is inspired by her article “Stoic Logic in Everyday Life,” where Brittany invites us to reflect on the importance of logic, the value of making it more accessible—and how reflective thinking lies at the heart of real transformation.

But this isn’t a lecture. It’s a conversation.

Brittany’s joining us not just as a published thinker in Stoicism but as a woman who’s been asking many of the same questions we’ll be exploring together.

✨ Together, we’ll explore:

  • Logic as a truth filter—and how we can use it to sharpen our discernment in everyday life

  • Social media, clickbait gurus, digital manipulation—how do we stay clear when everything is designed to distract?

  • Reimagining logic as a shared tool—not an elite discipline—so that clarity, reasoning, and inner authority are accessible to everyone.

Come as you are. Bring your questions.

Let’s think out loud—together!

As Ever, V 🖤
