1. Introduction to The Woke Salaryman
The Woke Salaryman, run by duo Ruiming (writer) and Wei Choon (artist), is a digital-first publication that creates stories to make personal finance more accessible and interesting for young people and beginners. Their mission is to help people have a better relationship with money so they can achieve their goals and lead more meaningful and fulfilled lives.
They have more than 500k followers on Instagram and TikTok, and are also on Facebook, LinkedIn, X and Substack They’ve also published a physical book, Crash Course on Capitalism & Money: Lessons from the World's Most Expensive City, which has since gone on to become a bestseller.
2. What You Can Expect
In this session, Ruiming and Wei Choon will share more about 'How much in life is actually up to you', the first comic in their book. They will discuss the inspiration behind the comic, as well as key takeaways from it. This will be followed by a Q&A session with a moderator, where they can answer questions about personal finance, as well as their book, business, and life; and a book signing event.
