Urban Monks Social Silence: October 2nd
URBAN MONKS
City life gets chaotic. Monday starts with a podcast playing in one ear as grab your order-ahead matcha from Blankstreet. You respond to 5 unread iMessage conversations, trying to ignore the incoming Slack notifications. A DoorDash bike almost runs you over as you cross the street. And since you woke up late, you'll arrive at best 5 minutes late even though you're rushing.
Yet amidst the chaos—we know deep down that nothing is more precious than a calm state of mind. Having control over your thoughts. Feeling more content, less anxious.
Much of the advice on this calm mindstate comes from monks. Monks who live in serene environments without notifications or honking cars. Monks who don't experience the struggles of maintaining equanimity within non-stop, hyper-connected urbanity.
A new order of monks must emerge: Urban Monks.
Urban Monks choose to cultivate mental clarity in spite of the city's chaos. Their middle path involves contributing to society through a career while also developing inner peace. They recognize this path is challenging & that making friends along the way is invaluable.
We invite you to join your fellow Urban Monks & take a step towards mental clarity, together.
