​​Shop is the shopping and package tracking app powered by Shopify. With 200 million users across Shop Pay and Shop App, Shop helps buyers discover the best brands and products, and is consistently ranked among the top shopping apps on the App store. We are excited to announce a sneak preview of our new web-based developer platform, enabling engineers to build and ship shopping experiences - “Shop Minis” - on the Shop app in record time. This is your chance to be among the first to use and provide feedback on this new platform.

​​Hackathon Details

​​On June 25, 2025, Shopify will host a one-day in-person hackathon during Toronto Tech Week. Join us at Shopify’s Toronto office from 9am to 5pm. Your challenge is to build an engaging shopping experience, leveraging Shop’s vast array of merchants and products via the new Shop Minis SDK.

​​You'll have the opportunity to engage with fellow developers, tap into your creativity and win prizes. Some teams will be given the opportunity to work with the Shop Minis team to fast-track their Minis into production once the platform is ready. Plus, breakfast and lunch will be provided!

​​Prizes: First place will win $5,000 and 5 honorable mentions will each win $2,000
