Every Voice Belongs: Practical Tools for Safer, More Inclusive Facilitation
In this experiential 60-minute session, we’ll explore how to create workshop spaces where every participant feels safe to contribute in their own way — whether through words, movement, expression, or quiet presence.
Drawing from real-world experience and nervous system-informed insight, we’ll look at how the freeze response and internalised guilt and shame from the school system can silence participation — even in spaces that seem friendly. You’ll hear a story of what not to do (from a controlling online space) and how we can do better by embracing diverse ways of engaging.
You’ll leave with practical tools for welcoming contributions in varied forms (spoken, written, non-verbal), setting group agreements, and noticing where unspoken power dynamics may be at play.
This is a session for facilitators, educators, and space-holders who want to create workshops where everyone feels heard — not just the loudest voices.
We’ll cover:
How the freeze response affects voice and self-expression
Recognising fear, obligation and guilt patterns left from the school system
Practical ways to reduce pressure and increase invitation
Your own story of safety and silence: where you felt heard, and where you didn’t
