Group B Safeguarding Training
Trainer: Lee Hind, PAVS Safeguarding Champion.
PAVS is pleased to offer ‘Social Care Wales – Group B Training, Learning & Development Standards. The training is aimed at staff and volunteers who have any contact with children, young people and/or their parents/carers or adults at risk and/or their carers. Competence at this level is about individuals knowing what to look for, which may indicate possible harm and knowing who to contact and seek advice from if they have concerns.
The learning outcomes of the training are as follows:
This training will give participants the opportunity to:
Describe how to work in ways that safeguard people from abuse, harm and neglect.
Explain factors, situations and actions that could lead or contribute to abuse, harm or neglect.
Consider legislation, national policies, codes of conduct and professional practice in relation to safeguarding.
Know how to recognise and report different types of abuse, neglect and harm.
Individuals are expected to:
Recognise, respond to and know how to share safeguarding concerns
Have basic knowledge of relevant legislation
Be able to recognise the signs and symptoms of abuse, neglect and other kinds of harm
Be able to use the appropriate policies and procedures to effectively support safeguarding issues
Recognise own role and responsibilities and those of others in safeguarding children and adults at risk

Pembrokeshire Voluntary Group/Non-PAVS members: Free**
Individuals & Private Organisations £ 50.00
Statutory Organisations £ 80.00
** PAVS has received funding this financial year to enable us to offer this session free of charge to voluntary sector organisations in Pembrokeshire.
Please note that there will be light refreshments provided. Participants will need to bring along their own lunch.
