About This Event

Surcodage represents a paradigm shift in the entrepreneurship landscape, uniquely positioned at the intersection of artistic innovation and venture capital. Founded by a collective of artists and entrepreneurs, our mission is to identify, nurture, and scale creative ventures that challenge conventional boundaries between art, AI, and entrepreneurship.

This launch event brings together creators, researchers, investors, and leaders in the historic halls of Beaux-Arts de Paris for an evening of inspiration, connection, and opportunity.

What will the future of art, culture and technology look like?

What to Expect

18:30 - 19:00 | Registration

19:00 - 20:30 | Keynote Talks: "The New Spirit of Art and Technology" with a line-up of artists and technologists.

Confirmed attendees: Neïl Beloufa, Manvi Agarwal, Obvious.

Neïl Beloufa is a French-Algerian filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist. His multifaceted practice addresses themes of geopolitics, technology, urbanism, and ideology through layered projects that combine video, sculpture, social participation, and often dynamic processes like sensor activation or algorithmic control. His work has been shown at Hangar Bicocca, Milan, 2021, at Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfort, 2018, at K11, Shanghai, 2016; MoMA, Museum of Modern Art, New York, 2016; Schinkel Pavilion, Berlin, 2015; at the Fondation Ricard, Paris, in 2014; at the ICA, Institute of Contemporary Arts, London, 2014; at the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, 2013; as well as at the Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2012 and 2018).

Manvi Agarwal is doing her PhD under the supervision of Dr. Changhong Wang and Prof. Gaël Richard in the ADASP (Audio Data Analysis and Signal Processing) group, Télécom Paris, Institut Polytechnique de Paris, France, supported by the ERC-funded Hi-Audio project. She studies how human knowledge and generative models can be successfully combined in challenging, low-data domains, such as music. Broadly, she is interested in how sequence-based learning works and how our understanding of this process in different deep learning architectures can help us make these architectures perform better.

Obvious is a French collective of artists and researchers who use algorithms to create art. Pioneers of digital art, they are also the first French artists to have created NFTs as early as 2018 with the piece Eryn Nemesis. Their works fall at the crossroads of science, history and art. Obvious' works are conceptual propositions that must therefore be understood beyond their purely visual dimension, as part of an overall experimental working process and as components of a wider fiction in which each piece has its own specific place.
