About Event

Mission Barns is a startup based in San Francisco making real pork by culturing pig cells rather than raising animals.

In this session, Cecilia Chang, Chief Business Officer, will share her experience building a company at the forefront of the cultivated meat industry. From early R&D to navigating regulatory pathways and scaling production, this session will cover the practical realities of launching and growing a biotech startup in food.

Topics will include:

  • Challenges and opportunities in today’s food system and industrial animal agriculture

  • Cultivated meat as a scalable, science-driven alternative

  • Developing a go-to-market strategy for novel food products

  • Scaling through technology innovation and strategic partnerships

This is a conversation for anyone interested in food systems, biotechnology, or early-stage entrepreneurship.
