About Event

The MAKO Student Innovation Award is available to participants in Toronto Metropolitan's Zone Learning ecosystem who are working towards bringing a new commercial product to market. Annual MAKO Student Innovation Award recipients receive $10,500 to assist them in transforming their ideas and prototypes into market-ready products and successful businesses.

Ricardo Rambal - Robbie Restoration Technologies Inc.

Parnian Majd - Fibra Inc.
Science Discovery Zone, Fashion Zone, Brampton Venture Zone, Innovation Boost Zone
Fibra ("Feebra") is the future of women’s health! It is a data-driven women's health platform, (patent-pending smart underwear + an app) to give women personalized/accurate reproductive health data (starting with fertility) in the most automated, non-invasive and hassle-free manner.

Abdel Ali - Kiwi Charge, Clean Energy Zone
Kiwi Charge introduces a pioneering solution to the electric vehicle (EV) charging challenge, particularly in urban environments where traditional infrastructure is scarce or non-existent.

Angelina Almanza - CAT6, Transmedia Zone
Initially created for the TMU community, the CAT6 is a Community Arcade Table allowing for the playing and playtesting of student-made video games. Through utilizing a custom interface, users will interact with a CAT6 Table or Console, select from an open library of in-development games, and play together using arcade-like controls, allowing student game developers to collect coveted user data while gathering the community in support of interactive experiences.

Joseph Ojo - Reindeere Robotics, Innovation Boost Zone
Dasher is a mobile robotic platform that performs chore-like tasks to boost the productivity, availability, and affordability of building services. It will perform tasks such as Mail & Package Delivery to Unit, Mobile Patrolling (to identify potential risks), Parking Enforcement and more, at office buildings, university campuses, residential buildings, and retirement homes, and will provide analytics for management.
