CEO, Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre
Rita is an experienced executive with a demonstrated history of working in health, welfare and social sciences sectors. For over 30 years, she has worked across Non-profit Organisations, State and Local Government and Health Promotion.
Paige Kernebone
Client Services Administration / Project Officer
With a background in Health Promotion (Honours), Paige is committed to supporting gender equity and family violence response/prevention. Currently at Safe Steps, she helps coordinate various projects that work towards increasing the quality and efficiency of direct service.
Together, Rita and Paige will discuss how Safe Steps' need for a searchable database of confidential information resulted in a lightweight, secure web mapping application that has helped its call centre operators relay accurate, up-to-date information quickly to those who need it most.
Amelia Busuttil
Education and Community Engagement Officer, Children by Choice
Amelia is passionate about women's health, sexual education and gender inclusivity. She currently assists the Education team at Children by Choice facilitating professional training and co-design workshops with community groups. Amelia is completing a Master of Social Work at the University of Queensland specialising in healthcare, women's rights and domestic violence.
Amelia will be presenting on the recently launched Children by Choice online database, featuring over 100+ abortion and contraception providers, pharmacists, and sonographers across Queensland.
The Abortion & Contraception Services Map provides a clear pathway of information and options to health consumers, and supports healthcare workers to confidently refer clients to appropriate services.
Tom Hollands
Senior Spatial Solutions Consultant, Spatial Vision
Tom is a technical specialist and consultant skilled in web mapping, development, GIS and spatial analysis. He has extensive experience working with not-for-profit organisations on technical projects, pairing modern technology with sound advice to help organisations make the most of their data to meet their objectives.
Tom will provide insight into the technology and processes undertaken in designing the Safe Steps and Children by Choice solutions, plus a presentation of other successful web mapping examples.
