About Event

During the ARTSG period, we aim to foster a highly demanded conversation about art's impact on our mood and mental health, especially in the current climate where everyone grapples with everyday stress. Empowered by the increasing prevalence of technology, we delve into the unimaginable benefits that virtual art can unlock for us.

The venue for the event is the 1880 members club situated at the InterContinental Hotel in Singapore.

Panel Discussion - Virtual Art Heals

Commencing with a Panel Discussion, we will delve into the healing power of Virtual Art featuring distinguished panelists from diverse disciplines. These experts are joining us from around the globe, making this event an opportunity not to be missed for engaging in a meaningful conversation.

Virtual Art Exhibition

The latter part of the event will feature a virtual art exhibition showcasing seven globally recognized and emerging artists. Each of these selected artists incorporates technology into their creative process, utilizing elements like algorithms, AI, or 3D rendering.

Featured artists (no specific order)

Gordon Cheung: a contemporary multi-media artist born in 1975 in London. His art blurs virtual and actual reality to reflect on his questions on global capitalism, and its underlying mechanisms of power on our perception of identity and sense of belonging. He received education from Central Saint Martins and Royal College of Art in London and his works are held in MoMa, the British Museums and more.

Lake Heckaman: a Brooklyn-based new media artist with a background in theoretical mathematics and data science. Yuma Yanagisawa: a Japanese artist who experiments with creative coding to create immersive, interactive illustrations. These are materialised from fractals to AI-generated imagery and photorealistic visualisations using physically-based rendering techniques. Yuma believes in the healing power of art, while it partially aims to cure patients, it also encompasses people who do not need medical treatment. He thinks everyone in modern society would need time to heal themselves.

Manuel Tozzi (born 1994 in Salzburg, Austria) works in Berlin and Salzburg. With a background in Film and Animation, he has transitioned into a visual artist creating kinetic sculptures, computer animations, and drawings using time-based media.
